Terms of Use

Last updated 2026-10-26

DRAFT. This text has not been legally reviewed yet and may change before Alcove is released.

These terms govern your use of Alcove, provided by Daniel Barta. By using Alcove you agree to them. Questions: support@alcovesurface.com.

What Alcove is

Alcove displays and organizes content that you and the AI agents you connect supply: articles, todos, events and birthdays. Alcove does not find, scrape or generate that content itself. You bring the content; we bring the surface.

Your account

You sign in with Apple and are responsible for activity on your account, including actions taken by agents you authorize. Keep your devices secure and disconnect any agent you no longer trust in Settings → Connected agents.

Your content

You keep all rights to your content. You give us permission to store, process and display it only as needed to run Alcove for you, including showing a shared article to people who have its link. You are responsible for having the right to store and share what you put into Alcove.

Acceptable use

We may apply fair-use limits (for example on storage, media and request rates) and may suspend accounts that seriously or repeatedly break these terms.

Connected agents

Agents connect through MCP with your consent. They are third-party software that we do not control; their providers' terms apply to them. We are not responsible for changes an agent makes within the permissions you granted.

Subscription

Alcove is offered as an auto-renewable subscription through the App Store. Billing, renewal, cancellation and refunds are handled by Apple under its terms. TODO(Daniel): pricing, trial and what is included are not final.

Availability and changes

We work to keep Alcove available and your data safe, but the service is provided "as is", without guarantees of uninterrupted availability. Keep your own copies of important information; you can export your data at any time. We may change or discontinue features, and will give reasonable notice before discontinuing the service.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for losses caused by content or actions of agents you connect. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under mandatory consumer law. TODO(Daniel): governing law and jurisdiction.

Ending

You can stop using Alcove and delete your account in Settings at any time.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms; we will update the date above and tell you in the app about significant changes.
